VISA APPLICATION CHECKLIST :

• Passport must be valid for at least six (6) months from the date of departure. A Passport with less than six (6) months validity from the date of travel will not be accepted.  
• Passport must have at least three (3) blank pages.  
• 2 recent colour passport size photographs  
• Coloured photocopy of the bio-data and signature page of applicant’s passport  
• Bank statement  
• Flight itinerary / reservation  
• Hotel reservation or proof of accommodation  
• Supporting or additional documents, as indicated in the categories below. The High Commission may ask for additional documentation to support the visa application requests  
• Yellow fever vaccination certificate  
• Payment receipt for visa fee paid  
• Signed visa application form  
• Applications for Minors should include a fully completed and signed Parental Consent Form for Visa.

WHEN COMPLETING THE VISA APPLICATION FORM, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

1. CONTACT DETAILS OF REFERENCES IN GHANA
   • References in Ghana should provide their full name, physical address (House Number, Street Name, City/Town/District, and DIGITAL ADDRESS), and a valid contact telephone number
   • The References should include valid Ghana Government issued card (passport or Ghana Card)
   • Foreign nationals’ resident in Ghana, who are References should include a copy of the io-data page of their foreign passports, Residence Permit, and Work Permit or Immigration Quota for business in Ghana

SUPPORTING OR ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION :

DIPLOMATIC AND OFFICIAL PASSPORT HOLDERS

• Note Verbal from applicant’s respective Foreign Ministry, International Organization, Embassy or High Commission
• Coloured copy of the biodata page of the passport and Residence Permit of the person in Ghana inviting the applicant. 
• For a Diplomat in Ghana inviting the applicant, the former must include a coloured copy of the biodata page of the passport and Diplomatic passport and Diplomatic ID.

TOURISM VISA APPLICATION

• Invitation letter from the host or references in Ghana
• References in Ghana should provide their full names, physical addresses (House Number, Street Name, City/Town/District, and DIGITAL ADDRESS), and valid telephone numbers.
• The References should include their valid Ghana Government issued cards (passport or Ghana Card)
• Foreign nationals resident in Ghana, who are References, should include coloured copy of the biodata page of their passports and Residence Permits

BUSINESS VISA APPLICATION

• Invitation letter from the applicant’s Business Associates/Institution in Ghana (dated not more than three months from the date of the application)
• Valid certificate of registration, certificate to commence business and Tax Identification Number (TIN) certificate.

VOLUNTEERS

• Validation letter from the volunteer organisation or host in Ghana (dated not more than three months from the date of the visa application)
• Validation letter from the beneficiary organisation in Ghana (dated not more than three months from the date of the visa application)
• Beneficiary organisations (except Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), Metropolitans-Municipals-Districts-Assemblies (MMDAs), and Public Institutions) should include a copy of certificate of registration, certificate to commence business and Tax Identification Number (TIN) number or certificate.
• Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO), Not-for-Profit Organisations (NPO) and Civil Society Organisations (CSO) should include a certificate of registration and certificate to commence business from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

NON-AUSTRALIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS

• Copy of proof of residence in Australia
• Letter of invitation from person or institution in Ghana
• Please refer to the above categories (Business, Volunteers, Tourism etc) for the additional requirements

PERSONS WHO ARE ORIGINALLY GHANAIAN BUT HOLDING FOREIGN PASSPORTS (FAMILY VISA)

• Letter of invitation from a relation in Ghana
• Copy of passport biodata page or Ghana Card of the relation in Ghana inviting the applicant
• Copy of passport biodata page or Ghana Card of the relation in Ghana inviting the applicant

POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

Police Clearance is issued to all Ghanaians upon request, whether they are residents living in Ghana or non-residents living abroad. Police Clearance is also issued to foreigners who have stayed in Ghana for three months or more.

If you have previously resided in Ghana, but you are now living in Australia or country in the Pacific Region and require a Police Report, you can register and submit your application online via the Ghana Police e-Services website .

Please note that applicants are required to pay an official fee as indicated on the Ghana Police e-Services website .

Note that, where your fingerprints cannot be taken, the Certificate can still be issued, based on the provision of relevant documents or information considered sufficient by the Police Administration. The Police Clearance Certificate is typically obtainable within 10 working days.
